Compassionate Buddhist Meditation Center (CBMC) is the place that everyday life can truly possible to quiet the mind, soften the heart and see life in a new way. It is a spiritual center focused on religious observance, prayer, learning, and compassion.
People come to CBMC for many reasons, but they all amount to essentially the same thing — wanting a more easeful relationship with life. The spaciousness and stillness of CMBC and the caring Monastic and volunteers, create a supportive environment for turning inward and letting go of the struggles that get in the way of experiencing the freedom and joy that are inherent in every moment of life.
The teachings of the Buddha (Dharma) and the practices of Mahayana tradition Meditation and loving-kindness meditation are at the heart of all the programs we offer at CBMC. Practicing Meditation develops mindfulness, the capacity to pay attention to each moment of life and to see clearly the truth of our experience. Studying the Dharma provides insights into the conditions that define and limit our experience of life. And cultivating an attitude of loving-kindness allows us to stay present to what's true and what's difficult in our lives with compassion for ourselves and others. Ultimately, our relationship to life is transformed as we learn to live more wisely and kindly. 
CBMC offers different programs for beginners and experienced students alike.

Mission Statement
The Purpose of the Compassionate Buddhist Meditation Center (CMBC) is to maintain a temple and establish a Buddhist community of the Mahayana Tradition in Greater Los Angeles area, CA. The temple provides a site for religious services, prayer, and strives to awaken within us the compassion and wisdom of the teaching of the Buddha - Dharma.  CMBC endeavors to share the teaching of the Buddha to all those who seek the knowledge and the truth of the teaching of the Buddha - Dharma, to promote our Sangha (community), and to provide the general welfare, religious foundation, and service to guide the activities which strengthen our faith in the Buddha and advance our learning in the Dharma.
